How We Got Ghosted By Frasier!

And this kids, is the story of How We Got Ghosted By The Frasier Reboot! 👻

Back in 03/2021 my husband Adam and I saw the official announcement that the show Frasier was being rebooted on Paramount+. 

Since we are both such HUGE fans of Cheers, Frasier and Wings (and we’re both writers) Adam reached out to the head writers and producers of the Frasier reboot - Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli. 

Adam introduced who were are, shared some writing samples and explained that we’re both huge Frasier nerds with tons of material that we could contribute to the reboot. He explained we were industry outsiders, but we're hungry for an opportunity and willing to work for cheap. 

Joe ghosted us right away. But Chris kindly responded and asked us for a script. 

Adam and I have always wanted to be part of the entertainment industry and have worked on several projects and attractions since childhood. But growing up poor in Orlando, FL our options were kind of limited when it came to our big, Hollywood dreams. So we took this as a chance to stretch our skillset and show the industry who we are and what we’re made of! 

We sent Chris Harris three original scripts that we wrote for the Frasier reboot. In the span of about a week, we worked together to create about 10 episodes worth of material and 3 official scripts. Chris responded that for legal reasons he couldn’t read the Frasier related content and could only read original content. At this point, we were kind of bummed, especially because we had put so much effort into our Frasier storylines. 

So we decided to take a big chance…

Over the span of a few years we have slowly been creating material for an original series based on us and our personal experiences. The project is simply called Kim & Adam. We thought this would be an amazing opportunity for us to get our stuff out into the industry we’ve wanted to work in all our lives. So we took a huge chance and sent Chris a script for episode one of our original series entitled Kim & Adam: Get Famous! 

We were totally nervous about sending in our original content but we figured that hey, it’s copy written material so we just kept positive intentions the entire time. 

And that’s where things dropped off. 

Chris totally ghosted us after that and never responded back. Adam then reached out to other people he thought would be attached to the reboot in some way and meh. No response, the case went cold from there. 

Time passed and then we recently saw the official Frasier reboot trailer announced so we decided that we were going to share our material and our story with the world because we both worked really hard and stand by what we created.

I also made a mockup visual representation of our scripts available here. It outlines the stories we wrote and the reasoning behind our decisions as both writers and fans. Forgive the crudeness of the designs, I literally threw it together in a couple of days lol. 🙃

Our goal from the start was to make something that honored the original franchise, paid tribute to the actors who are no longer with us, and give an honest return to the show that we love so much.
